What materials and techniques does the artist use?

Lim Hyejung uses a proprietary medium she developed by fusing Eastern and Western traditional materials. This unique technique creates transparent, flowing textures on canvas reminiscent of watercolor, incorporating silver and gold leaf to embed the materiality of light onto the work's surface. As a result, her pieces function not as fixed images but as living objects that transform moment by moment with changing light and viewing angles.

Lim Hyejung Named Featured Artist at Vietnam International Art Fair 2025

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam — Korean contemporary artist Lim Hyejung (b. 1981) has been named a Featured Artist at the 2nd Vietnam International Art Fair (VIA Art Fair) 2025, presenting an expanded personal booth at Hotel Nikko Saigon from November 20 to 23, 2025.

Following her debut in 2024, Lim Hyejung was invited for the second consecutive year, this time elevated from general participant to Featured Artist. Featured Artists are notable artists selected by the art fair, receiving dedicated exhibition space and separate promotional support.

Under the theme 'Utopia = Reality,' the artist presented multiple works including new pieces visualizing the ideal world within. The surface textures that transform with light and viewing angles garnered significant interest among local collectors.

Ahlfah! Collective, a Seoul-based gallery in South Korea, participated as a partner gallery, supporting the introduction and sales of Lim Hyejung's works.
